Be a private guest at Tea House Zen

Tea House Zen, a rustic place of quiet, leaves visitors feeling refreshed.

Hosted by Nancy, author, Zen teacher and psychotherapist, Tea House Zen is a place for learning a little about Zen, and a little about oneself - an opportunity to experience the 'peace of mind' that is a hallmark of the Zen world.

In contrast to the highly formal Japanese Tea Ceremony, Tea House Zen's experience is informal and relaxed similar to those of Zen temples in the mountains of South Korea.

You are provided time and opportunity to acclimate yourselves to the tranquility of the space on your own as you settle in.

Tea is served with treats, and we encourage visitors to explore unusual objects and to experience whatever makes them curious, including Zen loving kindness chants or guided meditation, if interested.

Cooler days are particularly pleasant with the warmth of the tiny wood stove in the intimate setting. This is the perfect activity for a rainy day.

Visitors usually leave with a sense of refreshment, reflection, and peace.

The Tea House is steps away from the Morgan Bay Zendo, which is on the National Register of Historic Buildings and easy to find on Route 176 in Surry.

Bring your friends or family. Reserve your space for up to 4 people on colder days. Larger groups can be accommodated in our outdoor setting during warmer months.

Contact:  TeaHouseZenMaine@gmail.com to make a reservation for 75 minutes.

The price for up to four guests is $175.
